Well, as they say... if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans!
My intensions for the 2014-2015 school year was to stay in my position as a special education teacher for 5th-8th grade students in a great middle school. Then a couple of co-workers mentioned a job that "had my name on it". I call that a sign, so I applied (just in case) and I actually got the job! Instead of playing with technology in my spare time to help a small group of people, now I will be able to continue my 'hobby' and share it with an entire school! My new job is titled a "Personalized Learning Coach" made possible the Re-Inventing Schools Coalition and a Race To the Top grant here in South Carolina. I will be helping teachers integrate technology and learning strategies into their classrooms so children can show individual mastery of the Common Core Standards. I'm looking forward to this new challenge! Now that my job has changed, I feel that this blog will help me share what I find with more than just one school. I will be working in a 1 to 1 iPad school, so I'll focus on web based and app based technology this school year. If you find a post you enjoy, please share it with your friends. I'm also on twitter at https://twitter.com/specialtechie if you'd like to follow me. Enjoy what's left of your summer and I'll be back soon with some new goodies! ~Pam
